Some Thoughts on a Thursday #8

Hello, and happy Thursday! Here’s what’s going on in this crazy brain of mine.

  • I took a bunch of pictures on my phone on Saturday when we were skiing at Revelstoke, and on Sunday they all mysteriously disappeared! I moved a bunch of pictures to my SD card because my phone is perpetually low on storage, and somehow those photos just vanished into thin air. I spent way too long trying to search for them until I finally gave up and resigned myself to the fact that they weren’t going to be found. There was nothing groundbreaking that I absolutely can’t live without, but there were some nice ones that I was sad to lose! I’m hoping this doesn’t become a regular occurrence. Maybe it’s time to get a new phone.
  • Speaking of getting a new phone, my contract has been done for a few months now and I’ve been trying to decide what to get next. I currently have a Samsung, which has been just fine, but I’m not sure what to get this time around! My biggest needs are lots of storage (at least 64 gigs), solid battery life, and a good camera. There are so many options and all have their pros and cons. I’m not in a HUGE rush since my phone is still working, but it’s definitely getting to the point where things are working as well as I’d like them to. I’m not attached to Android and might switch back to iPhone but I’m just not sure which way to go!
  • I have a very simple makeup routine, but one thing I always wear is black eyeliner. The one I used to wear smudged and ran everywhere, so I tried a couple of new ones with no success. That is, until I got a recommendation from my friend for Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner. After using it for a few weeks, I can confidently say that this stuff has made all of my eyeliner dreams come true! It’s easy to apply, and, most importantly, it does not come smudge, streak, or come off, even when I rub my eyes. This is life changing, my friends. LIFE CHANGING! Sorry for the drama, but I never knew an eyeliner this amazing existed. I don’t think I can ever go back to drugstore stuff after this!wp-1452797170945.jpeg
  • A little update on bullet journaling: I’m still loving it! It’s been two weeks and I’m still going strong, so I think it just might stick. I’ll probably talk about it in more detail in a future post, but I’ve been using it as both a to do list and a spot to jot down some more long form memories about my day, which is a bit of a departure from the original bullet journal method but it’s working for me! I love that it’s both keeping me on task and helping me achieve my goal of journaling more often.
  • I was talking to Zevi the other day about whether it would be easier to give up dairy or gluten, and which we would give up if we had to choose. I went with gluten, and I think I confirmed my choice when I showed up at the grocery store check out with a giant package of cheese strings along with two other kinds of cheese . Yes, I love cheese strings. No, I’m not a five year old child.
  • I’ve just been listening to whatever’s on the radio in my car lately, and I feel like I need to find some new music. Some good discoveries in the past few days: the new Cage the Elephant and Tallest Man On Earth albums, The Wombats, and Smallpools.

That’s all I’ve got for today, pals. Thanks to Amanda for hosting, as always. Hope you’re gearing up for a great weekend! I’m off to Meet, Eat, Compete again with my friend Alanna, so that should be lots of fun as per usual.

Thinking Out Loud Thursday

Are you an iPhone or an Android user? What do you love/hate about your phone?

What have you been listening to lately?

    1. I use an iPhone, and I don’t really have any complaints. I think what I love most about it is that it syncs with all my other Apple devices, so information is super easy to share across all of them. And I’m totally with you on the importance of good black eyeliner. I haven’t tried the one from Kat Von D, but I use one from Stila that totally has my heart.

      1. Yeah, that’s one thing that has me wanting to go back to the iPhone. Everything else I have is apple and I miss having them all easily sync together!

    1. So I’m actually the brand marketing manager for Android but I have both. I need the other so I can keep up with the what’s happening in my industry. 🙂 If you want a good camera, the Nexus is amazing (and I promise I’m not just saying that). Every time I take a picture with it and either upload to Insta or text it, people always compliment.

      1. The Nexus does look like a pretty nice phone. My husband has a Galaxy S6 and it takes amazing photos. The front facing camera is especially good!
