Dandy Container Bar

A Super Weekend

Happy Monday, friends! Zevi was home this weekend and we had a great mix of relaxing hanging out with friends.

Friday was pretty low key. Zevi went out for drinks in the early evening with some coworkers and I discovered Fresh Prince of Bel Aire on Netflix! It was one of my favourite shows as a kid so I was pretty excited to see how it would hold up after so many years. I’ve only watched the first few episodes, but the verdict so far is that Will Smith is still hilarious and Carlton is… not. I guess that’s not such a big surprise when you consider how their respective careers have gone since then. Later that night I had a soccer game with my women’s team. It was one of those super frustrating games where we completely dominated the game but ended up with a tie instead of a win, but that’s just the way it goes sometimes.

Container Bar is basically a patio in an alleyway that’s normally only open in the summer, but they open about once a month in the winter for special events. I love any chance to spend time outside in the winter, so this was perfect, especially since the weather has been unseasonably warm here in the last little while. The place was completely full of people enjoying some tunes, carneval-themed food, and delicious Dandy beers. In the evening we had a game with our coed soccer team and came away with a solid win!

That was a big relief! We went to our friends’ house to watch the game and eat more delicious snacks than we probably should have. We brought buffalo wing popcorn and wings and both turned out very well. There was also cheese fondue, corn and jalapeño dip, and veggie summer rolls. I should probably lay off on the snacks for the next week and a half now before we fly off to Mexico!

I hope that your Monday is off to a great start. I’m going to a spin class tonight, which always puts me in a great mood, and the weather is amazingly warm, so I really can’t complain!
